MACOMB, IL – A Macomb man has been taken into custody on a warrant charging him Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.
According to a press release issued by the Macomb Police Department (MPD), in October 2023 the MPD had received a report of an adult male sexually assaulting a juvenile female within Macomb that had occurred in May 2022.
An investigation was opened, and the case was presented to the McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office who requested a warrant for the arrest of Willie J. Hughes, 24, of Macomb, charging him with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.
Hughes was taken into custody on December 16th and is currently detained in the McDonough County Jail pending a preliminary hearing on January 10th, 2024.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
