IVCC Announces State Qualifiers from IDEA CAD Competition

In a remarkable showcase of talent, eleven computer design students, from Seneca and Ottawa high schools, have earned their spots in state-level competition, following a successful run at the regionals held at Illinois Valley Community College. The Illinois Design Educators Association (IDEA) regional event marked IVCC’s first time as host. These promising students will be showcasing their skills at the state competition on April 20 at Illinois State University. Their drawings were meticulously evaluated on completeness, accuracy, line quality and dimensioning. This competition offers an incredible platform for these young design enthusiasts to shine brightly.

The state competitors are:

Intro CAD Introductory Drafting– Casey Klicker, first, and Drake Hefner, second.

3D Modeling Intermediate – Aric Threadgill, first, and Camden Loomis, second.

3D Assembly Modeling Intermediate – Isabella Ruiz, first, and Quinton Oley, second.

3D Machine CAD — Kate Passwater, first, and Devin Hudkins, second.

3D Architecture — Zander Houk, first, and Keagan Gromm, second.

Introductory Board Drafting — Kollin Holding, first.

Third-place medalists are: Aldan Hardee, Intro CAD; Melanie Kaminski, 3D Modeling Intermediate; Brian
Diedrich, 3D Assembly Modeling; Sean Farrell, 3D Advanced Design; Christian Gray, 3D Architecture.
