Fire Training Facility a Step Closer

Progress is moving ahead on a new regional fire training facility serving Rock Falls and Sterling. The project received an $825,000 boost in federal funding, helping push construction forward this year. Once completed, the facility is expected to give firefighters a local place to train for real-world emergencies, including structure fires, rescues, and multi-agency response situations.

Supporters say the investment will strengthen public safety across the Sauk Valley by improving readiness and reducing the need for departments to travel elsewhere for advanced training. City leaders in both communities say the shared facility reflects a continued commitment to cooperation and emergency preparedness.
