Moline Fire Department Battles Blaze on 28th Avenue

In a swift response to a fire outbreak at 540 28th Avenue in Moline on Tuesday afternoon, emergency crews were on the scene within minutes. Upon arrival, the Moline Fire Department encountered a small single-family home emitting smoke from the front door. Fortunately, all residents were safely outside as firefighters proceeded to extinguish a small fire inside. The fire was under control in about ten minutes, though crews stayed for two hours to secure the site and begin an investigation. The incident displaced five residents, now under the care of the Red Cross. Seventeen personnel, supported by neighboring fire departments and local organizations, were mobilized. Inquiries about the fire are being directed to Fire Marshal Mitch Cunningham.
