Update: I-80 Westbound lanes will close at the Big X for the incidents. Highway 6 exit to I-80 West will close as well. IDOT is on scene and taking over I-80 traffic control (12:21 PM)
An Accident closes Westbound lanes of Interstate 80 by Highway 6 for Hazmat cleanup. All lanes of Cleveland Road at the I-80 overpass will be closed from damage to the bridge from a truck reportedly striking the bridge. There is reported heavy structural damage to the Cleveland Road overpass over I-80. Colona Police are currently on scene. An Illinois State Trooper and Henry County Sheriff’s Office Deputies are en route. This is a hazmat incident and multiple Fire Departments and Henry County OEM dispatched to the scene for cleanup. Traffic will be detoured around the accidents for an extended amount of time. Avoid the area.
