WIU to Celebrate Col. Rock IV’s Sixth Birthday Feb. 14

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University (WIU) has announced that they’ll be celebrating the birthday of live mascot, Colonel Rock IV, on Wednesday, February 14th.

To commemorate Col. Rock IV’s sixth birthday, there will be a special party that’ll be held at the University Union Concourse from 11:30 to 1 p.m. where participants can grab a quick photo with the birthday boy, enjoy cupcakes, and snag party favors.

Additionally, the bookstore located on campus will host a sale on Wednesday in honor of the birthday boy with 20% off Col. Rock bobbleheads. A pre-party will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 10 in Western Hall as part of both Leatherneck basketball teams taking on University of Tennessee-Martin.

Col. Rock IV is an AKC-certified English bulldog obtained from Richard and Beth Siess of the Siess Ranch in Seneca, KS. All Pets Veterinary Clinic, the WIU School of Agriculture, Farm to Pet Dog Treats, along with other University and community organizations and individuals, make sure that Col. Rock IV’s needs are tended to.
