Orion High School Seniors Break Basketball Scoring Records

ORION, IL — Orion High School is celebrating a historic moment in its basketball program as two seniors finished their careers by breaking the school’s all-time scoring records.
Kyler Owens closed his high school career with 1,903 points, surpassing Tanner Williams’ previous record of 1,779. Owens, a consistent scoring force for the boys’ team, also earned First Team honors in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference and a spot on the Second Team 1A All-State Team. His scoring ability, leadership, and clutch performances have made him one of the most decorated players in Orion history.
Kamryn Brown finished her career with 1,657 points, breaking Cassidy Clark’s record of 1,375. Brown’s exceptional skill and determination earned her First Team honors in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference. Kamryn also made an impressive total of 210 three-pointers during her high school career. She leaves a lasting mark on the girls’ program, setting a high standard for future players.
Both Owens and Brown have been selected to participate in the Iowa/Illinois Senior All-Star game on Monday, March 23rd at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. The girls’ game starts at 5:30 PM, followed by the boys’ game at 7:00 PM, giving the Orion community a chance to celebrate their record-breaking careers on a larger stage.
These accomplishments highlight not only their talent but also their dedication, perseverance, and impact on Orion basketball.
