Kamryn Brown is now the all-time leading scorer in Orion High School girls basketball history.
Brown passed previous record-holder Cassidy Clarke (1,375 career points) on Friday, December 26, during the St. Bede Holiday Tournament. The historic moment came in the first half of Orion’s matchup against St. Bede Academy, when Brown buried a 3-point shot to move past Clarke and become the program’s all-time leading scorer.
Brown currently sits at 1,415 career points, a total that continues to rise as the Chargers’ season moves forward.
This winter, Brown has been a consistent force for Orion on both ends of the court, averaging 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game. Her scoring punch — including that record-breaking triple — has helped anchor the Chargers, while her defense and all-around play continue to show up in the stat sheet every night.
For Brown, the milestone was about more than just a number.
“It’s honestly a really cool feeling,” Brown said. “To hit the record on a three-pointer is something I’ll always remember, but what makes it special is the people around me — my teammates, coaches, and family. They’ve all been part of this journey.”
Brown’s new mark places her alone at the top of Orion girls basketball history, and with more games still ahead this season, she’ll have the chance to keep pushing that record even higher.
