    THREATS
    Several tornadoes and a few intense tornadoes likely, Widespread damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 90 mph likely, Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events to 4 inches in diameter possible
    SITUATION
    An increasingly volatile environment and very strong atmospheric winds are expected to yield an outbreak of severe storms including tornadoes and widespread damaging winds across the region through the afternoon and early evening. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 110 statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles south southwest of Ottumwa IA to 50 miles northeast of Mankato MN.     PRECAUTIONS
    A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

Annawan Boys Defeat ROWVA in Close Win

The Annawan Boys Basketball team picked up their 10th victory over the weekend with a 52 to 49 win over ROWVA. The game was tied at 30 to 30 and Annawan fell behind heading into the 4th Quarter. But then the Annawan defense stepped up and held ROWVA to only 7 points in the 4th quarter while Drew Wise of Annawan scored 4 of his 8 points in the fourth quarter, leading to the come from behind win. Tommy Covington led Annawan with 12 points on the night. Maddux Heitzler added 111 points and Brady Heitzler had 10 in the winning effort. Annawan is now 10 and 1 on the season and they have a big game coming up on Tuesday as they take on 10 and 0 Earlville at home on Tuesday night.
