MACOMB, IL – The Macomb Police Department (MPD) has announced that they will be holding a retirement ceremony on Tuesday, March 26th, to honor MPD Lieutenant Jim Rowland, who will be leaving the MPD after 21 years of service.

“Lt Jim Rowland has faithfully served the Macomb community for over twenty years.  He has left an indelible mark on the department through his field training efforts and creation of the Strategic Response Team (SRT), which is tasked with fugitive apprehension and warrant service,” says Police Chief Jeff Hamer.

According to Hamer, Rowland’s future plans include hunting and plying his supervisory talents with the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office.

The ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the MPD Training Room with remarks, refreshments, a Mayoral proclamation, a departmental gift, and one final Macomb sign off on the radio.
