Woodlawn Arts Academy Call for Photographers

“Through the Lens” is the theme of Woodlawn Arts Academy’s summer art exhibit, featuring digital and film photography by local and regional artists ages 14 and up. Entry forms are available at woodlawnartsacademy.com or in the main office. Those are due April 26th. The exhibit will open May 12th, with a reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and will be on display in the halls and lounge at Woodlawn through August 11th. The exhibit is free to view during regular business hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.

The Academy’s next art show is the Juried Art Exhibit, in partnership with Sauk Valley Community College. Applications for the Juried Art Exhibit, open to kindergarten through 12th-grade students as well as adults, are also available on the Academy’s website or in the office. These applications are due in late July, with the exhibit running August 25th-November 17th.

Woodlawn Arts Academy is an agency of United Way of Whiteside and Lee counties, and financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Details on the Academy’s programming and financial assistance applications are available in the Academy office or on the website at www.woodlawnartsacademy.com. The Academy’s programs are partially funded by grants from the Illinois Arts Council Agency and The Chicago Community Foundation.
