Henry and Stark County Health Department February Heart Health Month Tips

SHARE NOW

In observance of February as American Heart Month, Henry and Stark County Health Departments, together with First Choice Healthcare Clinics, are raising awareness about cardiovascular disease (CVD). CVD, encompassing heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure, is the leading cause of death and disability for both genders in the U.S. Health officials remind the public that healthier habits can prevent many CVD deaths. Some risk factors include poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking, obesity, and health conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. The Health Departments encourage everyone to take steps to manage these risks to stay ‘heart healthy’.
