The Moline Police Department, and the Illinois DOT, have announced the prohibition of ‘Turn on Red’ at the intersection of 41st Street and John Deere Road, effective from March 11, 2024. Due to a 140% increase in traffic crashes at this intersection since 2018, traffic engineering teams have enhanced detection systems and light patterns to improve traffic safety. A public education campaign, including LED message boards, media advisories, and social media alerts, has commenced to inform locals about the change.
