Ribbon Cutting at Regional Media’s New Downtown Sterling Studio

Now everyone knows! The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Wednesday November 1st, welcoming WSDR back downtown, along with sister stations, 105.5 WSSQ, and the newly introduced Hog Country 102.7 WZZT. Kris Noble, executive director at the chamber, along with ambassadors and city representatives joined in the ribbon cutting.

WSDR hit the airwaves on August 21st, 1949, with the station located in the basement of what is now The Whiteside County Eastern Branch Court House. An easy way to locate the station back then, was to look for the mascot Dalmatian Dog, and The Simpli-Dyne radio and bell speaker in the window, now in the windows again.
