Traffic Charges on the Docket for Lasenby and Brown from Traffic Stop that Injured a Deputy

James Lasenby remains on the run from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office as of Monday; However, traffic citations related to the incident that left a Deputy with minor injuries are on the court docket.  James Lasenby and Lovie Brown have traffic charges from the incident in Judici and have a First Appearance scheduled at the Henry County Courthouse. While the traffic citations are filed, Felony charges for the Aggravated Battery of a Police Officer are not on the court’s docket at the time of this writing.   The vehicle was reportedly driving over 100 mph while fleeing from the Deputy.  After striking another vehicle head-on on Tenny Street near East Division, James Lasenby fled the scene on foot before police arrived and Lovie Brown was transported to OSF Saint Luke Medical Center for treatment. Captain Franklin from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office said that the Deputy is doing fine and is back to regular duties.

James Lasenby has been charged with Reckless Driving (Class A Misdemeanor), Unlicensed (Class P Other), Speeding 35+ MPH Above the Speed Limit (Class A Misdemeanor), and two counts of Disregarding Traffic Control Devices (Class P Other).  A First Appearance is scheduled for January 22, 2024, at 1 PM.

Lovie Brown is charged with Fleeing to Alude Police (Class A Misdemeanor), Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle (Class P Other), Speeding 15-20 MPH Above the Limit (Class P Other), and Improper Lane Usage (Class P Other).  A First Appearance is scheduled for January 8, 2024, at 1 PM.

James Lasenby also has citations for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis by a Passenger (Class A Misdemeanor) and Driving on A Suspended License (Class A Misdemeanor) with a Jury Pre-Trial Scheduled for December 19, 2023, at 9 AM.
